I always start off the day with water, and drink water throughout the day. Then, I swam laps for about 20 minutes, which is my favorite exercise to do in the summer. I just recently started practicing because I really want to improve my swimming technique. I never did great in a pool as a child. I took swimming classes once as a child and when the teacher says "ok now let's all float!" I would be that one kid that would lay back and sink straight down. But don't worry, if you're a beginner like I was, there are plenty of excellent swimming videos on youtube to teach you how to swim!
After my swim, I had 2 bananas as a snack by the pool. As you will notice, I don't necessarily have a set breakfast, lunch, and dinner schedule. I mostly listen to my body and eat when I'm hungry.
For lunch I had an orzo pasta salad, which I will link to the recipe video and blog post in the description of this video below. I eat my salads from serving bowls and this is how much I had leftover at the end of this meal.
Don't you love Mindy? I am obsessed, I have this fantasy that I'm best friends with Mindy Kaling. Anyways, back to business! My husband got back from work so I'm making us a green smoothie with flax seeds, water, and the bananas, frozen berries, and mixed greens I got from my bulk grocery haul video that I will also link below. While editing my videos, I snacked on these spiced and roasted peanuts that you can get at the Asian supermarkets. Later on in the afternoon, I had an orange.
Finally, dinnertime. I'm steaming some frozen broccoli in my rice cooker. And here I'm heating up some leftover black beans and frozen corn that I also bought from my grocery haul video. I'm just going to kick it up a notch and add some lemon juice and fresh cilantro. Cilantro just makes everything better! I can't get enough of it.
Now the broccoli is done steaming, and I also warmed up some rice that was leftover from the night before. I'm serving the corn and black beans on top of the rice, and we bought this new green salsa that I'm also going to add in here. And lastly, we dug into this huge bowl of watermelon to end the night! There you have it everyone! Make sure to give this video a thumbs up and follow me on Instagram for more daily foodspiration!
