The first tool is happycow.net. Trust me, it is a godsend! There's an app for it as well. I use this all the time where I live and also when I go to a different city. Like last week when I went to Austin, I already did my research beforehand of where I wanted to eat. I'm actually putting together a vlog of my road trip and everything that I ate which will be uploaded soon, so make sure to subscribe to my channel so you'll be updated.
Now granted, of course the results will vary depending on where you live. For example if you live in Portland or Los Angeles, you'll find a lot more options because they have more businesses than if you live in Odessa Texas let's say. This is the slightly disappointing part here is when there aren't many vegan places open or some places go out of business. Which is why if you do have a few or even just 1 or 2 vegan or veg-friendly restaurants, you should go and support them and make sure they stay in business. But even if you didn't find any search results where you live, the next time that you do get out of the city and travel somewhere new, you can use this website to find vegan options where you'll be going, like I did with my Austin trip.
The second tool is yelp.com. I usually go straight to Happy Cow but there could be instances where Yelp is helpful as well, especially if the business is not updated on Happy Cow. If you're planning a trip somewhere, you don't have to worry about not having anything to eat or where your next meal will come from.
Those are my favorite tools when it comes to scoping out vegan and vegetarian friendly restaurants. Go ahead, try it out right now! If you know of any other cool ways to find where to eat as a vegan, please let me know in the comments! I would love to hear and learn from your experiences as well! I hope you had fun and I'll see you next time!
